Rocky Mountain in particular sits high, so build in time to acclimate, drink water, and be off exposed tundra by early afternoon when summer thunderstorms build.
Mesa Verde's cliff-dwelling tours are ticketed and sell out, and Rocky Mountain has used timed-entry reservations in summer. Confirm both before you finalize dates.
